Eurovision 2019: Finnish selection to be held on March 2

After the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, Finnish broadcaster YLE looked to the public for advice and feedback on how they should approach their Eurovision selection for 2019. As you may remember, Finland moved away from the multi artist national selection format, and instead internally selected Saara Aalto, with a national final used to select the song only.

It was subsequently decided that the broadcaster will stick to this method of choosing an artist internally, and using UMK merely as a song selection process. This format allows the broadcaster to focus on the performance and content surrounding UMK and Eurovision.

The venue will be decided in the coming months, and tickets will also go on sale at that time, however what we do currently know is that the final will be held on March 2.
